US — Medford, Oregon. “I do not value human life very much,” a killer of two, now serving a sentence in a women’s prison, said in a taped confession. “My feeling is the only thing wrong with the planet is there’s people on it. If not for us, all the other animals, even dodo birds, would be here.”
Steven Buchanan of California, a male Vietnam war veteran, began identifying as a woman named Susan Monica following an honorable discharge from the Navy. He enjoyed a successful engineering career before 1991, when he retired to a 20-acre rural property he purchased in Wimer, Oregon to raise pigs and chickens.
Years later, Mr Monica hired Stephen Frank Delicino to work on the property as a handyman. In return for his work, Mr Delicino was financially compensated and allowed to reside on the land. In 2012, Mr Monica shot Mr Delicino to death and fed the corpse to his pigs.
Mr Monica later hired Robert Haney as a handyman. The farmer shot Mr Haney in 2013 and fed him to the pigs.
The two men’s tragic end came to light after Mr Haney’s children grew concerned that they had not heard from their father in some time and went to check on him.
Mr Monica told police investigating the disappearance that Mr Haney quit and left. The story unraveled when an investigation turned up security footage of Mr Monica using Mr Haney’s Oregon Trail Electronics Benefit Transfer card at a local Walmart the day after the farmer claimed to have last seen Mr Haney.
Investigators found the remains of Mr Delicino in plastic bags on the property.
Mr Haney’s remains were discovered on the property by investigators, who dug hundreds of holes in the search for human remains.
According to testimony from State Police forensic anthropologist Veronica Vance, Mr Haney suffered three to four gunshot wounds to the head. His legs had been chopped off with an ax, though it was unclear whether this act of mutilation took place before or after Mr Haney’s death. The thigh bones had been gnawed on by an animal.
Mr Monica told police various stories in taped confessions, none of which aligned with the forensic evidence. In some instances, he claimed Mr Delicino had shot himself repeatedly in the head. At other times, he claimed he shot Mr Delicino in self-defense and that some of the handyman’s corpse was eaten by pigs before he could gather the remains. Mr Monica insisted he shot Mr Haney in a mercy killing when he discovered pigs disemboweling the handyman, who had apparently reemerged from a month-long disappearance.
According to testimony of a 23-year-old cellmate serving time for a burglary conviction, Mr Monica signed a birthday card “from the sweetest murderer in Jackson County” while incarcerated. The former cellmate, Jordan ‘Janae’ Farris, said the card gave her “chills.” For some time after the trial, Ms Farris “had nightmares” that the two-time killer would get an appeal and she would have to face him in court again.
In April 2015, Jackson County Circuit Judge Tim Barnack handed the 66-year-old pig farmer a life sentence, with the possibility of parole after a minimum of 50 years.
Public interest in the case of Susan Monica was recently reignited following the re-airing of his story on Snapped, a true-crime television series on the Oxygen Network.

I really wish the media would refrain from referring to these obviously male criminals, who commit self-evidently male pattern crimes as “women”, “her” or “she”. There surely cannot exist any legal device compelling the media in the U.S. to refer to these men with these false pronouns? I believe that it is obvious that it runs counter to the human rights of women and girls to do so.

Not in New York State, either. The New York state law requiring preferred pronouns applies to employers and landlords. I’m also sure that this couldn’t withstand legal scrutiny if challenged in high courts, as it could not pass First Amendment muster.
Transgender activist trolls have been attempting to comment on this article, triggered not because this man has committed murders, of course, but because his accurate, sex-based pronouns are used in the article. Typical.
Yes, it really is typical of these people, what with their incredibly fragile egos and senses of self. Of course, realistically I don’t think it could ever be another way for anyone whose entire “identity” is based upon a fundamentally dishonest premise such as a “trans identity”.
This is yet another aspect of the transgender ideology/faith/nascent church which is contradictory – adherents are fond of repeating the lie that “sex doesn’t equal gender” when clearly, the two terms are frequently shorthand for the other, even in their very own dogma.

What’s so silly about that article were the references to Mr Monica and putting the word “transgender” in quotes. Identifying as a woman doesn’t compromise anyone else’s rights. Ms Monica was tried and sentenced as a criminal irrespective of her gender.
Getting triggered because a male person is referred to as ‘Mr’ shows that you are the silly one. A person who thinks a male who identifies as a woman is a woman and that news outlets should falsely report that men are women rather than present facts is a person who has a few screws loose or brain cells not functioning.
The reason Mr Monica is accurately referred to as a man is not because he committed crimes but because it’s objective fact that Mr Monica is a man. ‘Transgender’ is in quotes because it’s biologically impossible for a human to trans sex.
I absolutely appreciate the fact that you refer to this person as a man. He is a man. He has been and always will be a man. He can change his name, wear wigs and makeup, wear feminine clothing, and have surgeries to make him look more feminine if he wants. However his DNA and his insides will ALWAYS be those of a man. If he died and his skeletal remains were uncovered he would be identified as a man by his skeleton and his DNA.
Our society has lost their minds over gender and pronouns. Gender dysphoria is real, as are mental illnesses like body dysphoria illnesses such as anorexia or obsessive overeating or skin/hair picking. We don’t congratulate and celebrate anorexics for how thin they have gotten, overeaters for how much weight they have gained (or if they binge and purge how good they are at NOT gaining weight even though they consume massive amounts of food) or hair/skin pickers for pulling all their eyebrows out or having tons of scars from picking their skin. These are all mental illnesses that we as a society recognize as dangerous and unhealthy. We encourage those people to get help dealing with compulsive behavior and try to help them in their recovery. This is how gender dysphoria used to be and should continue to be seen. If it’s so healthy for people to live as their “real” gender identity then WHY are the suicide rates for transgender people so high even after transitioning? I don’t care if a person wants to change their appearance or their name or whatever but men will never be able to turn themselves into women and vice-versa.

Justice was served and then he will stand before the one true judge and his sentence will be eternal and far more severe than anything that could have been imposed here on earth.
