ES — Madrid, Spain. On June 27, eve of LGTBI Pride day, Spain’s Council of Ministers approved a law that will allow children under the age of 16 to change the sex marker on their official documents without necessity of taking cross-sex hormones or obtaining a psychological report.
Under the law, a minor applicant will simply need to fill out a form expressing desire to change his or her registered sex. Three months later, the minor would then be required to ratify the decision. After another month, the final resolution would be issued, and the minor’s sex and name would be changed on his or her National Identity Document.
“Trans Law,” as this and other legislation advanced by the leader of the Ministry of Equality, Irene Montero, have been dubbed, led to strong backlash from Spanish feminists that, for years, left them bitterly divided from leftist allies.
The Alliance against the Erasure of Women stated in an open letter that laws permitting children to change their registered sex encourage children to “make uninformed decisions, but induced ones” at ages in which “neither the body nor the brain have developed.” Denouncing such law as “child abuse,” the organization added: “That exposes them to harmful effects for life, and to authentic conversion therapies from which adults are exempted because for them it is enough to express ‘I feel/I am’.”
Feminists additionally argued that law allowing male individuals to change their registered sex without requirement to undergo hormonal or surgical intervention “betrays women” by allowing any man to occupy quotas and protected spaces for women, by risking women’s sport and by enabling “law fraud” that makes it difficult to legally prosecute gender-based violence and gather accurate statistics for gender-based violence.
On February 22, 2020, the United Left (IU), a left-wing political coalition, voted 85% in favor of revoking the membership of the Feminist Party of Spain (PFE) after the feminist organization said “Trans Law” would “make women invisible,” allow minors to undergo hormonal and surgical medical intervention for gender dysphoria, and facilitate the “rental” of women’s wombs to gay men. In addition to rallying the IU to ban them from its coalition, transgender activists denounced PFE for a hate crime before the specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
Ms Montero, speaking at the Justice Forum of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), dismissed critics of Trans Law as operating from a place of “transphobic prejudice,” and additionally remarked: “We can disagree with a rule that the Government promotes, but not with hoaxes or lies.”

There are two sexes and only two sexes, male and female. Sex is determined at the moment of conception and is immutable. A girl is a human female child. A boy is a human male child. Nothing could be simpler.
I felt the same way. What is it with us Europeans and our assured superiority? She looks as though she has never experienced life and its difficulties, but she knows all about it.

Ridiculous. Children will change what they want to be dependent on their latest superhero. I wanted to be superman, dunt mean i wanted to be a man (i wanted to save people and fly!) But a child saying this could be groomed to say she really wanted to be male. My daughter wanted to be ariel the mermaid, if self ID isnt prejudiced it must accept her self ID as a mermaid… so where will it end as children will change their minds because they are children!!

Already happening for lesbian couples as well, surrogates who when sign deal are made to promise they have no right over the children at all and do it for very little money considering what pregnancy can physically & giving up a child can mentally do to a woman, i dont think there are safeguards for surrogates who often dont realise how theyll feel until the baby is taken from them, often without even being allowed to see it.
It’s disgusting how many people in the transgender community are ok with children being risk of getting hurt.

Keep in mind, that breastmilk isn’t natural breastmilk, and is probably filled with a lot of things that could be dangerous to the baby. This person is breastfeeding in order to feed their gender identity when the purpose is supposed to be one to feed the child! To prioritize the infant’s wellbeing is a parent’s duty. This person, by prioritizing their gender identity experience over their infant’s health is flashing the bright red flag of a future narcissistic abusive mother
Male and female bodies are very different from each other, and so they react very differently from drugs they take. There is a reason why there is drugs for specific genders. A biological man’s body is going to react very differently having stuff put in their body (that’s supposed to help biological women lactate) compared when that stuff is put into a biological woman’s body (which that is what that is intended for). Also, the female hormones that is injected in that man’s body and the stuff that supposed to help women lactate has a very high chance of creating harmful substances in that man’s body that can harm the baby. Even slightly mixing chemicals and drugs together can be harmful.
Doctors are not always right, and they make mistakes all the time.

Indeed they can, and do. There’s little enough that can be done in the aftermath of an honest mistake – but I can’t tell you how far I would try to stay away from a bunch of doctors determined to lie to and gaslight thousands of women, right to their faces that a man can in fact be considered both a “mother” and a member of the same sex class as they!
