GT — Guatemala City. “Why are we transgender activists important?” a meme, created by Hadén Ordoñez and posted to the Facebook user’s own wall, inquires in Spanish. “Because a boy born trans will live his whole life believing that he is a lesbian if he does not have access to this type of information,” the meme answers itself.

“Or a girl born trans,” Ordoñez added in the Facebook status.

Ordoñez is a Life and Personal Motivation Coach, according to the user’s profile. The individual appears to self-identify as a man.

A screenshot of the activist’s status recently went viral when it was shared on Twitter by Carlos, a gay man who is critical of gender identity ideology. “Terrifying,” Carlos wrote sarcastically about the idea of a girl growing up to live out her life as a lesbian rather than convinced she was born a boy, or a boy growing up to live as gay instead of believing he was born a girl.

A transgender-identifying individual rushed to provide testimony affirming the meme.

“The truth hurts,” Travesti Terminator quote-tweeted. “I am a trans woman who considered herself gay 10 years of her life because she had no information.”

Another transgender-identifying tweeter gleefully scolded the gay man for speaking from a place of “cis privilege.”

Still, many tweeters condemned the idea forwarded by the meme.

“Better mutilated and medicated for life than lesbian. Do these people stop to think what they say?” Ratesi asked.

Anabella called the meme “modern homophobia.”

Ana tweeted exclamations of shock and dismay before wondering, “How many girls and boys mutilated and medicalized by […] queerism […] will we have a couple of years from now?”

“The attack on freedom, health and lives of children, homophobia and lesbophobia are difficult to qualify,” Encarnación commented.

An called the movement “craziness” – “an experiment that moves a lot of money and will end up destroying many lives when [the children] mature and are aware.”

  1. I would merely find this homophobia and lesbophobia to be tragic, were it not so dangerous and virulent.

Society has indeed regressed in the few short decades since I was a little girl. Frankly I’m glad not to have brought children into this ugliness – at least not so far. What a thing for “activists” to lobby for! Pernicious denial and self-hatred.
